"For a moment, I felt like I've escaped from city life but I was still in the city."
Colorful garden, fresh seasonal vegetables, fun gardening activities, and a gastronomic garden-to-table dinner with talented chefs from Mario Batali's acclaimed restaurants, certainly helped give me a much-needed little retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. This past Sunday, I was honored to be invited to be a part of the very first (in a series of 4) Priceless New York 'Family Dinner with Mario Batali Chefs' events at the NY Botanical garden in the Bronx.
The event took place at the Mario Batali's Kitchen Gardens in the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden, I was immediately greeted by the vibrant vegetable garden that was planted and tended by kids who are part of the Botanical Garden's high school explainer program.
My eloquent and knowledgeable little guide- Julia from the NY Botanical Garden's high school explainer program gave me a little tour of the garden.

In line with the family dinner theme, I dived right into the various activities setup along the garden.
At the pavilion, Chef Cruz Golder from Lupa, and Chef Frank Langello from Babbo gave all the guests a little cooking demonstration of all the dishes that we were about to savor.

This was certainly a delicious and relaxing evening that I hope everyone gets to experience. Thankfully, the organizers from the NY botanical garden along with MasterCard® Priceless New York have the same event lined up for Sunday of August 11, September 21 & 29; 5-7:30 p.m.
